21 May Chesapeake Bay Red and black drum fishing near Watts island.
Coastalkillers.com is fishing near Pocomoke and Tangier sounds in the Chesapeake Bay. Early May these fish show up in the upper reaches of Virginia and lower Maryland. We setup in the shallows using half peeler crabs. Our buddy boat was killing them and we couldn’t buy a bite for a few hours. Finally our persistence paid off with a good eating size Black drum and a nice Bull Red drum release. Also picked up a 24″ rock for a bay Slam!

We use Gamakatsu 8/0 circle hooks on 10″ 80lb momoi leader with a weight slider. Find the grass to find the fish.
